Experimental Physics in Bayreuth

The research focuses of Physics in Bayreuth include solid state physics, nonlinear dynamics, and the physics of soft matter. These areas are closely interconnected, for example through the choice of investigated materials, resulting in significant thematic overlap.

Research and teaching are tightly integrated. In elective courses, seminars, and advanced lectures, students are introduced to current research areas represented in physics in Bayreuth. Within diploma or master theses as well as doctoral projects, students become directly involved in ongoing research activities in these fields.

Numerous research projects are embedded in national and international research collaborations, some of which are directly based at the University of Bayreuth.
